This week we tackled some of the puzzles and activity boxes together.
We have what is known as the “goodbye box” where things are put when they are left lying around for too long. This one has been left unsorted for far too long! – so it was time…
We have an activities box for each child with most of their individual toys in them. I sorted these, added to them, reunited things with their long lost buddies from the “goodbye box” and separated each activity into bags (not great all the plastic bags but at least they’re reusable!)
Containers within containers!
Then I sorted the puzzles boxes: found the missing pieces,
repaired the boxes…
and enlisted help in packaging each puzzle so as to avoid hours of sorting by the older ones whenever the younger ones got hold of this box!
Beautifully packed!
Inspired to do the puzzles along the way of course.
I even sorted within the boxes – this one has groups of 5 cards which were always falling out of the box…
Elastic bands around each group – why didn’t I think of that before!
Sorted – yay!
This post is linked to the Organizing Junkie’s 52 weeks. Have a look there for some organizing inspiration!

“That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, [and] that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he [is] thy life, and the length of thy days” Deuteronomy 30v20
I think I’m going to go create a “goodbye box” right now. Love it.
🙂 Thanks for the comment, Mary. The “goodbye box” is also great for quick clean-ups when I don’t have time to put things in their correct places – to be sorted later hopefully!
