Launch and Re-Entry

Here we go!   10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3 … …

No, sorry – just false labour.

All that waiting, all that morning sickness, heaviness, the uncomfortable nights, all that anticipation – waiting to begin the journey of motherhood. So exciting, so wonderful, so joyful, so hard, so draining, so emotional!

So here we go again…

Nope, that wasn’t it!

Reflecting on how life is about to change – it so wonderful and exciting and terrifying all at the same time. so much to…

Woah! This must be it! 10-9-8-7-6 …

6-7-8-9-10cm dilated!!

Wow, what a ride – far more intense than you expected – but the joy of the precious life that you hold in your arms.

How incredibly blessed you are, how full of joy!

How peaceful and wonderful  – thank you Lord!

but NOW what?

All you have ever learnt was about the launch – how to cope, what to do; but now suddenly its over. What next!

This unfamiliar environment you have landed in  – like landing on the moon – is called motherhood and you are the blessed mother!

Unchartered territory, surprises around every corner.

Training could never prepare you sufficiently for this – what do you do?

No time to study the manual!

(my hubby was so tired with our first baby that he ran full speed into a closed door  – TWICE!)

Hours of sleeplessness, blissful motherhood, the agony of feeding

Trying, learning, not knowing

Slowly you resurface…

Re-entry, many bumps along the way

You remember how you used to have time to shower every day… eat meals regularly…

But you are changed forever.

This wonderful new world

This precious child

This blessed season of motherhood

Is here to stay!

Rest in Him, dear mother. You are created by God for this purpose and He will lead you. You are best mother possible for your precious child because God brought you together. Don’t be disheartened. Don’t lose hope. Yes, its one of the hardest times to go through but its the richest, most joyful wonderful time. He is so faithful!

“Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.”  Isaiah 40: v 28-31
